GMAT Scoring

Here’s how the GMAT is scored:

  Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA):  

Score Range:       0-6

Score Scale:

 

Assesses your ability to analyze an argument and communicate your ideas effectively in written form.

  Integrated Reasoning (IR):  

Score Range:       1-8

​

Score Scale:

 

Evaluates your ability to evaluate information presented in multiple formats from various sources.

  Quantitative Reasoning (QR):

  Verbal Reasoning (VR):

Calculation:

 

The Total GMAT Score is derived from the Quantitative and Verbal sections only. The AWA and IR sections are scored separately and do not contribute to the Total Score.

GMAT scores are valid for five years from the date the test was taken.
